Today we (finally) left the hospital and brought Avery home for the first time- it's amazing how long it takes you to get somewhere when you're driving 5 mph!
When we got home, I was carrying Avery into the house, and I sat down on the couch with my legs out. Kaeto (our dog) came running up and stood on my legs with his front paws and started giving Avery kisses- he loves his sister!
Even cuter than that, Genelle took Avery to breast feed, and Kaeto came up and started sniffing the baby, and then Genelle's belly where her caesarean cut is. He got this very concerned look on his face, jumped on the couch next to her, and buried his head next to the baby and G's wound. (See pictures). Of course, as always, Gizmo (the fluffy cat) immediately started staying within 5 feet of Genelle at all times (she's my Joan of Animals :-} )

I hope you don't mind me posting a message. I just wanted to thank you for inviting us to view this blog and see these pictures. This is the part we never get to see, the first "at-home" pictures. I've enjoyed them so much. It was a pleasure to meet you and your family and to be able to care for you during your time in the hospital. Give Avery a big hug from me! Geneva RN
